Don’t Skip Out!

PARC’s Don’t Skip Out awareness campaign supports physical activity promoters as they encourage individuals across Ontario to be physically active.

Don’t Skip Out is aimed at adults 18-64 years old and focuses on the importance of making physical activity a priority – despite how busy we are.

To help implement this campaign, PARC has developed the following materials in English and French:

  • Communications Toolkit
  • Postcard
  • Promotional posters

Communications Toolkit
This toolkit is designed to support your organization in promoting physical activity in your community via media and community outreach using traditional and social media. The goal of Don’t Skip Out is to educate and motivate, and this toolkit will help you do just that.

Items include:

  • Communications Toolkit How to Guide
  • Fact Sheet
  • Matte Article
  • Media Release Template
  • Social Media Content
  • Social Media Images

3 Promotional Posters
The series of 3 promotional posters highlight the concept of being ‘too busy’ to be physically active.  Each poster depicts a certain activity that we make time for in our day, despite how busy we are; brushing our teeth, tying our shoes, and drinking our morning coffee.  PARC wants to encourage others to also include physical activity as one of their daily or regular activities.   These posters are ideal to display in public spaces to help motivate community members to get up and move!

Potential locations include:

  • Lobby of your health unit
  • Library
  • Community centre or recreation centre
  • Kitchen at an office
  • Staff room at a school
  • Family health office

Posters have been designed with the option for Public Health Units and Community Health Centres to include their own contact information to help facilitate an awareness of the support, programs and services available to them locally.

Too Busy to Exercise? Too Busy to Exercise? Too Busy to Exercise?

The Don’t Skip Out postcard is an easy way to help remind people to incorporate more physical activity into their daily routines and includes some specific tips to do so! Consider making them available at events or including them in promotional packages that are sent out to promote your activities.
