News from PARC
After 15 years of supporting physical activity promoters across Ontario, the Physical Activity Resource Centre (PARC) and its services will cease as of March 31, 2018. Unfortunately as determined by the Government of Ontario funding for Health Promotion Resource Centres, such as PARC, will not continue past the 2017-18 fiscal year.
As you know, PARC the centre of excellence for physical activity promotion, is managed by Ophea. Ophea is committed to championing physical activity for children and youth and school communities. Ophea is currently undergoing a process to identify how we can continue to engage physical activity promoters across Ontario and provide programs and services that support active living.
PARC places a high value on its partnerships and working relationships. We are confident that these relationships will continue to be supported through Ophea and that this change will bring forward opportunities for innovation and collaboration.
PARC would like to thank the dedicated physical activity promoters across Ontario for their support and partnership. The work you do every day in encouraging healthy, active living is inspiring. Thank you to the numerous contributors, consultants, partners, writers, designers, experts, and presenters who have allowed PARC and its services to be synonymous with best-practices, high-quality, and leadership in the field.
We wish all Ontario physical activity promoters, sector-related partners, and stakeholders well as you work to continue to ensure the health and well-being of all Ontarians.
